I haven't posted for a long time ,since I became Mom and been very busy with my little one..
Now there is something that I'm concerned about as a mother ,which is ,where to find Nursing Jilbabs ,that can be practical ,easy and fast to open and in nice colors.
I did some reasearch in online Islamic stores and I would like to share what I found with other sisters who are breastfeeding and also looking for Nursing Jilbabs ..

1.http://al-mujalbaba.com

This is my first finding and my most favorite jilbabs ,because there are many beautiful colors to choose from including light blue ,khaki ,royal blue ,purple and more ..The Jilbabs are plain ,with no design on them ,that's exactly what I like about my clothing ,so it is perfect choice for me ..
Jilbab has a zipper and is made of peachskin fabric ,that is very practical and doesnt need much ironing.

This store also has varities of Hijabs in different colors and also Hijabs and Niqab matching sets in beautiful colors

By SANDY ILLIAN BOSCH sbosch@pioneerlocal.com

Sadaf Syed of Willowbrook grew up in Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a teacher. She found a way to fulfill that dream, not with a teaching degree, but with a camera.
"I believe we're all here to educate one another," said Syed. Through her photo documentary, "iCover, A Day in the Life of an American Muslim COVERed Girl," she wants to show the world that a woman who chooses to wrap her head in a scarf is just like every other woman in America.

Sadaf Syed of Willowbrook captured a variety of Muslim women in her book, iCover, A Day in the Life of an American Muslim COVERed Girl.

Walks of life

Like Syed, all of the women in her book have chosen to wear the traditional head covering of the Muslim faith. Syed's book of photos, which has seen its first run, but is still being tweaked, shows Muslim women in all ways of life -- from mother to dentist to motorcycle enthusiast.
"It's something that I do for God," said Syed, who began wearing the scarf, or hijab, in early 2001.
She said the hijab is part of a commitment to live a humble, modest life. It also allows people to focus on a woman's inner beauty rather than her outward appearance.
But the public, especially in post-Sept. 11 America, has misconceptions.

Heavy weight

"If there's one thing I know for sure now, it's that this light strip of cloth sure does carry a lot of weight," Syed wrote in her book's introduction.
She said some people see the scarf as a symbol of piety -- a sign that the wearer considers herself more holy than the rest of the world. Others believe it's a sign of a woman's submissiveness to her husband.
But the women in "iCover" are anything but subservient. They are boxers, surfers, U.S. soldiers and artists who choose to honor God by covering their heads.
Covering one's head in honor of God is not unique to the Muslim faith, Syed said. She notes that Mary, the mother of Jesus, is always pictured with her head covered. Most nuns still cover their heads, as do Orthodox Jews.
Syed said a Muslim woman's decision to wear or not to wear the hijab is an individual one made between her and God. For Syed, the scarf serves as a constant reminder of her relationship with God and of her commitment to try to be the best person she can be.

Access granted

She said she's grateful to the women who allowed her to include them in her book, which when complete will be about 125 pages long.
"It takes a lot for people to invite you into their private lives," she said.
Syed found these women through modern day word-of-mouth. As friends e-mailed friends, they began suggesting women they believed would help Syed deliver her message. To photograph them, she flew all over the country, to the East and West coasts, to a dance studio in Texas and a courthouse in Baltimore.
Syed sees her book as a way to celebrate women -- like the Pakistani woman who drives a big rig and the Chicago teacher who challenged herself to complete her first triathlon -- and as a way to show the world that these women really aren't that different after all.
"It's just a piece of cloth," she said.Aishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02182168930843523238noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5225876250214644246.post-67026395846399651602010-02-22T19:39:00.000-08:002010-02-23T20:39:21.800-08:00Free Islamic clothing from EJILBAB.COM

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> I would like to introduce all my readers to this Islamic Clothing store <a href="http://www.ejilbab.com/" style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">www.ejilbab.com
Is it a must for Muslim women to wear black?
<div style="color: black; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">

<div style="color: black; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">

Some people have misconception and confusion about Muslim women clothing .Most people think that Muslim women can only wear black .Even among Muslims there is misunderstanding about this ..For example ,I completely disagree with the rule in Saudi Arabia that Muslim women MUST wear black abaya ..

To clear this misconception I would like to post the following evidences that IT IS NOT A MUST TO WEAR BLACK ,BUT MANY WOMEN CHOSE TO WEAR BLACK not because it is obligatory, but because it is farthest removed from being an adornment. There are reports which indicate that the women of the Sahaabah used to wear black.

And a reminder for myself first and all of us ,is that what we wear should not be an adornment itself .We have to be careful with wearing decorated Hijabs and clothes ,which is most common nowdays among us ..

Let's remember that the glitter of this life is only temporary ,and this life is the one way ticket with only one final destination Heaven or Hell...

A woman may wear whatever she wants, so long as she does not wear a colour that is only for men , and she does not wear a garment that is an adornment in itself, i.e., decorated and adorned in such a way that it attracts the gaze of men, because of the general meaning of the verse (interpretation of the meaning):

“…and not to show off their adornment…” [al-Noor 24:31]

This general meaning includes the outer garment, if it is decorated. Abu Dawood (565) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not prevent the female slaves of Allaah from attending the mosques of Allaah, but let them go out unadorned.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel, 515.

It says in ‘Awn al-Ma’bood:

“ ‘Unadorned’ means not wearing perfume… they are commanded to go out like this and are forbidden to wear perfume lest they provoke men’s desires with their perfume.

What a woman must do if she appears before non-mahram men is to avoid clothes that are decorated and adorned, which attract the gaze of men.

It also says (17/108):

The dress of the Muslim woman need not only be black. It is permissible for her to wear any colour of clothing so long as it covers her ‘awrah, does not resemble men’s clothing, and is not so tight as to show the shape of her limbs or so thin as to show what is beneath it, and does not provoke temptation.

And it says (17/109):

Many women choose to wear black, not because it is obligatory, but because it is farthest removed from being an adornment. There are reports which indicate that the women of the Sahaabah used to wear black. Abu Dawood (4101) narrated that Umm Salamah said: “When the words ‘and to draw their veils all over Juyoobihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)’ [al-Noor 24:31 – interpretation of the meaning] were revealed, the women of the Ansaar went out looking as if there were crows on their heads because of their garments.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

The Standing Committee (17/110) said: This is to be understood as meaning that those clothes were black in colour.
That is the belief of a growing number of fashion designers in the Middle East who are cutting conservative clothes with fashionable flair.
Traditionally the Islamic headscarf is a symbol of modesty, but today more and more Muslim women are dressing in eye-catching outfits, albeit with their heads covered.
"Modesty is not the opposite of fashion, and fashion is not about showing more of my body," said Amina al-Jassim, a Saudi designer who makes haute-couture abayas, the long-black cloaks typically worn by more conservative Muslim women, which are also mandatory in Saudi Arabia.
Just 10 years ago it was rare to see women wearing abayas with bright colorful accents and intricate embroidery walking on the streets of the Gulf. Today, they are a common site and their outfits are becoming more more elaborate and bold as the market for such clothing expands.

"What we are seeing now is a generation of local women who are aware of western fashion, educated overseas. They are seeing a lot more outside the smaller communities they live in," said Kerrie Simon, Editor of fashion magazine Grazia in Dubai.
According to Simon the influence of expats has generated a demand for clothing that allows women to express their unique personalities.

"We are seeing a move to accessorizing the abaya, anything from crystallizing to embroidery."
There is a "fine line," though said Simon, "They wouldn't belt them, or make them shorter, the idea is that the body is covered..
In other words the new popular new styles are not tighter fighting or more body accentuating, they respect the purpose of covering up.
"You can wear the colors of the season, the style of the season...you can get the traditions and principles right and still be fashionable," said al-Jassim. Along with many other designers in the region, al-Jassim also designs eveningwear and travel clothes that break Islamic dress code, but are still popular with local customers who spend time abroad.
Colorful trends, growing sales
Amina al Jassim is just one example of Islamic designers whose business has grown rapidly over the past few years. Today she has three stores in Saudi Arabia, sells her clothes at high-end boutiques across the Middle East, including Harvey Nichols and says she is making in-roads at Harrods in London. Al Jassim spoke to CNN from Lebanon where she had been flown to dress contestants on "The Gulf Star," an American Idol-like program on Dubai TV.
In Dubai up-and-coming designer Amber Feroz is helping set the pace of the new styles. In October he showcased his Spring/Summer 2010 collection at Dubai Fashion Week, which included diaphanously flowing abayas with electric-colored trim.
"We have a very different way of working with the fabric...We came up with new techniques -- there is no seam. Our fabric is very lightweight. We use a lot of colors" Feroz told CNN. In his latest collection for the Miss Elegant Noura al Hashimi line, Feroz said he combined the concepts of jalabyas and traditional kimonos.

"We are expanding as a brand to sell all over Gulf," he said, adding that the company also had their eye on moving into European and Asian markets.
In Egypt, where fewer women wear the abaya, but an increasing number are wearing the traditional hijab head coverings, Wegdan Hamza has become something of a national style star. Not only does she outfit local celebrities with her hijabs, but she appears on programs like Dream TV's "The Latest Fashion" to discuss current trends.
"God makes us beautiful and he likes the beauty, so we have to mix and match our outfit correctly, in colors materials and style," Hamza told CNN. "It is illogical for everyone to look the same."
"Not to see through or describe the body -- those are the rules. After that I have the freedom to put on whatever I want," she added.
Hamza's collection of hijabs include everything from the casual and cotton, to trendy -- embellished with flowers or coins, to bridal -- topped with crowns. Currently she says she's feeling the recession pinch, but business has been steadily growing for several years, particularly her online sales to Europe and North America.
Of the designers interviewed only Hamza acknowledged some cultural pressure or criticism to design less showy clothes, but said that she dismisses it completely. The other said women were waiting for their clothing.

When asked about it, Grazia Editor Simon said, "It's not so much a conflict, but an amalgamation of east and west that works quite nicely here."

Well ,we all know that it is not truth .We all know that we look beautiful and care about our bodies ,about our personality ,our dignity and our respect ,that's why we cover .We conceal our bodies from the eyes of the strangers .We keep our beauty for our husbands .
As we know there is nothing wrong in dressing up and buying beautiful clothing ,but we should not go to extremes and be excessive .
So what do you wear at home or for women's only occasions?
I think many of us prefer Maxi dresses, but as for me I only wear them under my Jilbab or abaya

For several months a parliamentary commission in France has been investigating whether the burka or the niqab (the full veil) should be banned. They are due to report next Tuesday, 26 January. It is now clear that they will say that the burka "should be prohibited on the territory of the Republic".

In an interview with today's Le Figaro, the president of the commission, Andre Gerin, said that "the ban on the burka will be absolute" in public places.

Now this will have the force of an opinion, but it will be the first step towards putting a law in place. A great many deputies in the parliament clearly want this to be followed by a law. Nothing will happen quickly and certainly not before the French regional elections in March. There will also be an intense debate as to what the legislation should include and how to avoid it clashing with human rights laws.

I spoke with Jean-Francois Cope, the head of the parliamentary group for the UMP (the governing party) and he said that this was mostly about women's rights. "We think in our country", he told me, "that the face is a way of recognising and respecting each other". The veil, he went on, isn't the point. It is the covering of the face that we object to.

Now Mr Cope has already talked of fining those who break the law. Others like Xavier Bertrand have gone further in suggesting niqab wearers should not acquire French nationality. In his view the full veil is "simply a prison for women who wear it".

The deputies, who support the ban, say that many Muslims confirm that nothing in Islam requires women to wear the full veil. Only about 1900 women in France wear it.

It is difficult to isolate where this push for banning the burka comes from. Mr Cope said it had the support of 74% of French people. What people say is that as Muslims have become more visible across Europe, there is a concern that they are pushing a separate identity that would lead to parallel, not integrated, communities.

One academic I spoke to said that liberals had not expected, in backing multiculturalism, that newcomers would arrive and live apart from the society they had joined. President Sarkozy has spoken of "this feeling of sharing less and less a common culture, a common imagination and a common morality". In his view, becoming French means "adhering to a form of civilisation, values and behaviour".

Tomorrow I will write on the view from behind the niqab and how women who wear it may react to legislation if it comes.

Please share your views and comments !!!

I personally disagree with legislation .

France is supposed to be called Free country .

People can walk half naked ,following the so called Fashion ,but when a woman is walking covered ,then it is considered a threat.Where is logic here and what kind of free country it is?

All abayas are very good quality ,made of Kuwaiti crepe .

There is very interesting Hijab Style I found on their web site

Hooded Wrap Hijab

It combines the one-piece and shayla hijab styles for a practical and elegant look. The hijab is designed with two pieces:

1. Hijab - Includes a face opening and covers the hair in the same way as a one-piece hijab.

2. Attached Shayla/Wrap - Attached rectangular piece of fabric that can be wrapped over the bottom hijab layer. It can also be loosely flipped over the bottom hijab layer to achieve a versatile Khaleeji look.

The hijab is great for sisters who have a hard time keeping their shayla in place or those who like the practicality of one-piece hijabs and khimars but want to try something different. It also works great with niqab since the shayla piece can be brought forward to cover the eyes if desired.

I guess its very similar to a regular kuwati wrap ,but this one is much larger .

They have super fast shipping and beautiful , good quality clothes .
I ordered Hijabs from them before and the fabric of Hijabs was really beautiful and good quality. It was shipped after an hour or two, after I placed an order.
They have very interesting blog ,where they talk about different styles of clothes and Hijabs and also how to coordinate your clothes .
http://blog.artizara.com/blog/
This site would probably be very helpful for the sisters who just reverted to Islam and still going through a transition finding new style and just being yourself .
You can find some coupons on their blog and a very interesting contest they have on facebook, where you can win a $500
If you become their fan on Facebook, where more details on how to submit the work for the contest provided ,you will receive your 10% coupon by entering your email on the website: artizara.com

If you are looking for gourgeous outfit for special occasion in your life ,then you can find the most beautiful Kaftans and other outfits in Artizara..
There are few white dresses that can even be worn as a wedding dress or Nikah dress.
When I became a Muslim I had no idea that Hijab was obligatory .I thought it only needed when we pray or go to Mosque .Even for the prayer I used to wear a see- through Hijab ,which was barely covering my hair .It was actually a cover wrap for a swimsuit that I was using to serve the purpose of Hijab .Its funny I know .
I'm sure all of us converts to Islam have many funny and embarassing moments .
Before wearing Hijab I started with long sleeve shirts ,<strike>which were tight</strike>,then started wearing skirts ,which was really a challenge for me ,because I was totally not used to that.
After a while step by step I started getting used to my new clothes and started wearing bandanna like style Hijab from time to time ,when I was going to Wal Mart or library,or Masjid .
It looked something like this .

Please note, this is not correct Hijab ...

So I started wearing Hijab this way everywhere ,except for my work place .
I used to work in retail and was always on public in a very crowded work place ,so it was a big challenge for me to change my looks completely .
All I could do is to make Dua to Allah to make this task easy on me .I didn't know how and when I will put Hijab on ,but after a while I started to have a feeling of guilt and shame for not obeying the commands of Allah Subhana wa Taala .I started feeling ashamed to go out without covering my hair .I started hide my hair in a pony tail .I felt so weird to leave my hair down in front of everyone .
One day ,on Friday, I went to a Mosque for Jummah prayer and wrapped my bandanna Hijab around my hair ,but covering my neck also and it was almost proper Hijab and that day I went to visit my brother ,who is not Muslim .
He said nothing at all ,no reaction at all ,no comment .It gave me confidence .After that, the whole day wherever I went I wouldn't take my Hijab off .Since that day I decided I'm ready !!!
I went to work next day with my Hijab on .Well,I had some earrings sticking out of my Hijab ,which was wrong ,but it looked really nice .
When I was opening a store ,one Indian lady came up to me and said I love your Scarf ,it looks very nice ,I really love it .She asked if I wear it becuase I'm a Muslim ,I said yes .She said it looks really beautiful and she left .The same day I got a lot of complements from people about my scarf and it made me feel so much better .Few days later I started wearing proper Hijab .I was using too many pins though ,making sure it wont slip off .
So this is how I started.I still was wearing pants and long shirts then started wearing skirts .
It was hard for a while I'm not gonna say it was easy ,but I got used to it and at the end I knew why am I doing this .I do it for my Creator ,to please Him only ,and not to please people .

A year ago I decided to wear Jilbab .
One day I was looking for something online and I came across this verse ,which I read many times before ,but that day I reread it many many times ,before I understood.

Ya ayyuha an-Nabiyy qul li azwajika wa banatika wa nisa al-mu'minin yudnina alayhinna min jalabib hinna; dhalika adna an yu'rafna fa laa yu'dhayn. Wa kana Allahu Ghafur Rahim
O Prophet! Say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the faithful to draw their JALABIB close around them; that is better that they will be recognized and not annoyed. And God is ever Forgiving, Gentle.
The word "jalabib" is the plural of "jilbab". Clearly, this ayah states a command for Muslim women to wear a garment which Allah SWT has called "jilbab".

Beyond this, the hadiths record how the sahabiyat (rAa) went about obeying Surah al-Ahzab ayah 59 when it was revealed:

Sunan Abu Dawud Book 32 #4090. Narrated Umm Salama, Umm al-Mu'minin: When the verse, "That they should draw their jalabib close around them" was revealed, the women of Ansar came out as if they had crows over their heads by wearing jalabib.
This hadith shows that the correct way to obey it is to wear the garment called "jilbab", since that is what the sahabiyat (rAa) did. Note that they did not hesitate or delay or make excuses: when they were told by Allah SWT to wear the garment called "jilbab", they did, right away.
And there is more even than this. Some of the women remained in seclusion and never went out so that they did not own the garment called "jilbab". The hadiths record that the Prophet (sAas) commanded the women to come out for the Eid gathering, and what he said about the issue of the garment called "jilbab":

Sahih Bukhari Book 8 #347. Narrated Umm Atiyya: We were ordered to bring out our menstruating women and screened women to the religious gatherings and invocation of the Muslims on the two Eid festivals. These menstruating women were to keep away from the musalla. A woman asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What about one who does not have a jilbab?". He said, "Let her borrow the jilbab of her companion".

I know there is difference of opinion about what Jilbab is and about covering the face ,which is my next step inshaAllah, but when I read that women did not even go out or their houses if they didn't have Jilbab, I told myself that I will not go out of my house tomorrow without my abaya .It was the only one I owned at that time .Black Saudi abaya ,which was a gift from overseas ,alhamdulillah ..
So this was my choice and it was my decision ..
I don't want to judge anyone who doesnt wear Hijab or Jilbab ,because I know it doesnt come easy and it takes time and transition ,especially for the revert sisters .
May Allah give us taqwa and understanding of our Deeen and may all of us sisters follow the example of great women ,Sahabiyat (RA)and may Allah perfect our character and make us like them ..

Please share your Hijab story ,may be it will inspire others to wear Hijab...Aishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02182168930843523238noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5225876250214644246.post-70501331945451345252009-11-10T22:26:00.000-08:002009-11-10T22:26:18.905-08:00Why should I wear the Hijaab?

This is a good question and there is a beautiful answer! Allaah has commanded us with every action that is good for us and prohibited us from performing every action that is bad for us. Allaah orders the Muslim woman to wear the hijaab when she steps out of the security of her home or when in the presence of strange men. So to wear the hijaab is a source of great good for you – the Muslim woman - for many reasons. Among them:

You please Allaah. You are obeying the commands of your Lord when you wear the hijaab and you can expect great rewards in return.

It is Allaah’s protection of your natural beauty. You are too precious to be "on display" for each man to see.

It is Allaah’s preservation of your chastity.

Allaah purifies your heart and mind through the hijaab.

Allaah beautifies your inner and outer countenance with hijaab. Outwardly your hijaab reflects innocence, purity, modesty, shyness, serenity, contentment and obedience to your Lord. Inwardly you cultivate the same.

Allaah defines your femininity through the hijaab. You are a woman who respects her womanhood. Allaah wants you to be respected by others, and for you to respect yourself.

Allaah raises your dignity through the hijaab. When a strange man looks at you, he respects you because he sees that you respect yourself.

Allaah protects your honour 100% through your hijaab. Men do not gaze at you in a sensual way, they do not approach you in a sensual way, and neither do they speak to you in a sensual way. Rather, a man holds you in high esteem and that is just by one glance at you!

Allaah gives you nobility through the hijaab. You are noble not degraded because you covered not naked.

Allaah demonstrates your equality as a Muslim woman through the hijaab. Your Lord bestows upon you equal worth as your male counterpart, and gives you a host of beautiful rights and liberties. You express your acceptance of these unique rights by putting on the hijaab.

Allaah defines your role as a Muslim woman through the hijaab. You are a someone with important duties.

Dear Muslim sister! Come towards the gates of Paradise with us! Fulfill your duties towards Allaah, put on your adornment - put on your hijaab, and race towards Jannah (Paradise) by doing all good actions. You should agree by now that wearing hijaab is extremely beneficial – it must be - because Allaah only commands what is good…

…and believe me dear sister, it is good to obey the commands of your Lord…

THE first time Julia Shearson rode her bike after converting to Islam seven years ago, her headscarf became stuck in the wheel.
She lost her balance, and by the time she got going again she was met with stares as she whizzed along, arms and legs draped in loose clothing, her scarf billowing in the breeze.
“You have to overcome the looks,” said Ms. Shearson, 43, the executive director of the Cleveland chapter of the Council on American-Islam Relations. “It’s already hard enough to exercise, and if you look different ... it’s even harder.”
As a Muslim woman in the United States, Ms. Shearson has found it difficult to stay fit while adhering to her religious principles about modesty. Islam does not restrict women from exercising — in fact all Muslims are urged to take care of their bodies through healthy eating and exercise — but women face a special set of challenges in a culture of co-ed gyms and skimpy workout wear.
Many pious Muslim women in the United States, like Ms. Shearson, wear hijab in public, loose garments that cover their hair and body, which can hinder movement and add to discomfort during exercise. Women may show their hair, arms and legs up to the knees in front of other women.
Muslim women are often limited in their choice of activity, as well. Some believe that certain yoga chants, for example, are forbidden, as well as certain poses like sun salutations (Muslims are supposed to worship only Allah). For the sake of modesty, working out around men is discouraged.
That modesty can be a benefit and a liability. On the one hand, Muslim women are spared some of the body-image issues that other women face; on the other, that freedom can be a detriment to their physical well-being.

“We don’t have the external motivation that non-Muslim women have,” said Mubarakha Ibrahim, 33, a certified personal trainer and owner of Balance fitness in New Haven, a personal training studio catering to women. “There is no little black dress to fit into, no bathing suit. When you pass through a mirror or glass you’re not looking to see ‘Is my tummy tucked in? Do I look good in these jeans?’ You’re looking to see if you’re covered.”
After gaining 50 pounds while pregnant with her first child, Ms. Ibrahim studied exercise and nutrition, and became certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. In 2006 she opened her studio, which offers a safe environment for women to exercise (she says she has more orthodox Jewish clients, who also adhere to rules of modesty).
Ms. Ibrahim said she would like to see exercise become as natural a part of a Muslim woman’s life as praying.
In July, about 120 women from around the country attended Ms. Ibrahim’s third annual Fit Muslimah Health and Fitness Summit in New Haven. She offered yoga, kickboxing, water aerobics and core conditioning classes alongside workshops on weight loss, nutrition, cancer prevention and diabetes at the two-day, women-only event. She plans to hold another one in Atlanta in February.
“An important part of your spirituality is your health,” said Tayyibah Taylor, publisher of Azizah, a magazine for Muslim women, and co-sponsor of the summit meeting. “You can’t really consider yourself in good health if all parts of your being are not healthy — your body, your mind and your soul. It’s a complete package.”
This is especially true now, during Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting from dawn until sunset. “The Muslim prayer is the most physical prayer — the sitting, bowing, bending,” said Daisy Khan, executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement. “The physicality of our prayer forces us to create flexibility in our body.”
But how to mix one’s physical and spiritual needs with practicality? Some Muslim-Americans go to women-only gyms like Curves, which has thousands of branches across the country. And some gyms and Y.M.C.A.’s offer gender-segregated areas, hours or days.
Other women, like Umm Sahir Ameer, a 27-year-old student in Shaker Heights, Ohio, take matters into their own hands. Last year, Ms. Ameer started the Muslimah Strive Running-Walking Group so she and 12 of her friends could exercise together.
“I wanted to establish this group as a way to further unite Muslim women in my community while gaining physical endurance,” she said.
Those who do work out in co-ed gyms have learned to make accommodations in their clothing. Loretta Riggs, 40, an educational coach in Pittsburgh, started exercising two years ago after divorcing her husband. She wears a scarf made of spandex, long-sleeved Under Armour shirts and Adidas or Puma pants.
“Some women don’t think you should be working out in a co-ed gym,” she said, “but I’m around men all the time in my workplace, when I take my kids to the park, when I walk outside.”
She added: “Why would I deprive myself of being healthy because I am a Muslim and I choose to cover? It’s very important to take care of myself.”
Mariam Abdelgawad, 21, a math teacher in San Jose, Calif., said that in high school she played hockey, soccer and ran track and field, all while wearing hijab.
But today she works out at home, since there are no female-only gyms in her neighborhood. Her parents, with whom she lives, have a treadmill, elliptical machine and Pilates equipment, as well as weights. She exercises about three times a week, but said she missed the camaraderie of the gym.
Though working out at home is convenient, she said, it is also very easy to procrastinate and not do it. “I don’t have all the options that a gym would have,” she said.
Swimming also poses problems. Although some Muslim women have been known to hop in the water in their street clothes, this can be cumbersome for a workout. The burqini — a one-piece outfit that resembles a scuba wet suit — has received a lot of attention in recent months (most notably in France, where a young woman was banned from wearing one at a pool), but it tends to be too form-fitting for some women.
“I tried it once, and it sticks to your body,” said Marwa Abdelhaleem, a 26-year-old teacher in Toronto who started a female-only swimming group to avoid the burqini question. “It’s really fitted. I wouldn’t wear it in public.”
Ms. Ibrahim, however, is more focused on the private.
“One of the ideas I promote is that when you are married and you take off your clothing, your husband should not be like, ‘You should put this back on,’ ” Ms. Ibrahim said. “Even if you wear a burqa, you should be bikini-ready. You should feel comfortable and sexy in your own skin.”

Answer:
There is no such sect with this name. Rather this is just a nick name that the people of falsehood have branded it on the people who uphold the truth, the people of tawheed (Oneness of Allaah in everything). And this name they refer it to Shaykh Muhammad ibn AbdulWahhab, may Allaah have mercy on him. And he is a great Imaam from the Imaams of who brought religious rectification in the lands of Najd. 1 Thus he called to going back and establishing Tawheed (after people were into shirk) and reviving the methodology of the Salaf (pious predecessors). In this effort of his; the clan of Saud helped him until they managed to relinquish and remove almost all the shirk and bid'a (innovations), like calling on the dead people in the graves, and extremism in praising other humans. Thus all of the lands of Najd returned to Tawheed (Oneness of Allaah in everything) and Ikhlaas (sincerity in worshipping of Allaah) May Allaah have mercy on them and reward them greatly.

Why there are so many Muslims out there ,WHO HATE NIQAB ,and say it is not from Islam .Why there are so many Muslim women ,who wear Hijab, but look down on Niqabi sisters? Shouldn't we be ashamed? I personally love to wear black, but here in the West sometimes it might give wrong message.People here are scared of black color .In general, lighter colors give better expression and effect person's mood in better way.
When I wear black abaya I feel I stand out more and attract more attention .I usually wear different color Hijabs with my abaya ,this helps to blend more into crowd , and being unnoticed.
For anyone who is looking for abaya or Jilbab in colors other then black ,I will post some options.

You can find a lots of abays in different color in www.eastessence.com web site .I ordered from them before .

This was couple months ago and its not new,but I just want to post it ,because its very interesting in my opinion.
I know some may say we imitate the West by making beauty contests like this, but I think instead we show the West morals and the beauty of a character and not only the body.

This contest at least teaches the girls to compete on more valuable issues rather than showing off their body to the world. In the west people forgetting 50 years ago their grandparents used to be modest and follow morals, but when people grow up without any kind of morals you can't blame these people for doing wrong thing... This is what their parents raised them on and this how they will raise their kids, unless Allah guide them to the right path inshaAllah.

CAIRO (Al Arabiya)

<mainbody xmlns="">Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but for a fully veiled Saudi beauty queen who trounced 274 rivals without showing her face and body, morals, not physical beauty, are what matters.

With her face and body completely covered by the black head-to-toe abaya, or long overgarment, 18-year-old Aya Ali al-Mulla was named "Queen of Beautiful Morals," winning a crown, jewelry and a trip to Malaysia late on Thursday, Saudi-based al-Watan reported Friday.</mainbody>

<pbody xmlns="">No swimsuits or evening gown competitions and heavy media coverage of beauty pageants were the highlights of the Saudi contest based in the eastern city of Safwa.

Instead, the winner and the two runner-up princesses had to undergo a three-month test of their dutifulness to their parents and family, and their service to society. Tests probing their psychological state-of-mind, social and cultural awareness determined the winner.

Mullah, a high school graduate, managed to pip her rivals in the huge field, with good grades and hopes to go into medicine.

She raked in a 5,000-riyal ($1,333) prize, a pearl necklace, diamond watch, diamond necklace, and a free ticket to Malaysia with her win.

Beauty contests focused on physical beauty are non-existent in segregated Saudi Arabia, where women cannot mix with unrelated men, and must appear in public completely covered -- even in photographs.
Miss Moral Beauty pageant organizer Khadra al-Mubarak kept the focus on inner beauty, as defined by Islamic standards of Saudi Arabia.</pbody>
